“Jellyfish”–A transparent skin
An interesting idea sculpted into a beautiful shape. Ultra-thin transparent silicon with light colour gradients make up the shell, the new home of flowers in Nendo’s new concept of vases. But the water filled aquarium is the central core of their design. “The vases have been dyed twice to give the impression that what is floating in the water is but a gradated silhouette of colours.” As the studio describes. “The design was to redefine the conventional roles of flower, water, and vase by making the water inconspicuous, with an ensemble of both flowers and vases floating inside the filled water, as opposed to simply showing off flowers in a water-filled vase.”
